A public consultation was held among the residents of the affected khoroos by the Complete Street Project

Within the framework of the construction of a new 4 km comprehensive road from the eastern end of Sun Road to the intersection of Amgalan town, a public consultation was held among the residents and business representatives in the territory of the 12th and 37th districts of Bayanzurkh district. About 100 citizens of the respective khoroos participated in the consultation. CTI Engineering Co., Ltd. of Japan is providing consulting services for the design of this project corridor, and Mr. Akio Okazaki, the team leader, made an introduction.

During the discussion, the corridor’s design, including road lanes, bike lanes, bus stops, sidewalks, curbs, exits, traffic lights, signs and markings, street lighting, parking, drainage, trees, street equipment and the entrances and exits to the houses were presented in detail, and many citizens expressed their support for the construction of the road. During the discussion, about 30 feedback were given by citizens and enterprises. The consultants answered the questions in each case, and the written proposals will be sorted and examined for their inclusion in the design.

In addition, environmental and social impact assessment of the sub-project were presented, and mitigation measures to be taken to reduce the impacts such as noise and dust pollution were also presented.

At the end of the meeting, feedback boxes were presented to the governers of the respective khoroos and placed in the service halls of the khoroos. From now on, citizens will be able to express their opinions not only by e-mail or by phone, but also by visiting the nearest khoroos hall.
