Ulaanbaatar city’s “Parking Strategy” Training and Seminar Held

On September 17 and 18, 2024, a “Parking Strategy” training and seminar was held as part of the consulting service for Development of Parking Strategy and Management Plan under the Ulaanbaatar Sustainable Urban Transport project. Led by Paul Barter, an internationally recognized parking expert, this two-day event aimed to equip local experts and decision-makers with essential knowledge and strategies to tackle the city’s parking challenges. Representatives from relevant agencies of the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar and private sector also participated.

The seminar sought to enhance understanding of parking management, policy, and organization, ultimately leading to innovative solutions tailored to the city’s needs. The first day covered the fundamental concepts of both on-street and off-street parking management, policy, and organization, while the second day allowed participants to engage in hands-on workshops to develop a customized parking strategy for Ulaanbaatar. Attendees actively explored global best practices, discussing potential adaptations for local implementation.
