A public consultation was held among the residents of the affected khoroos by the Selbe New Road Sub-Project
Within the framework of the construction of a new complete street from the “100 Household” bridge to the Khailaaast bridge, a public consultation was held among the residents, business representatives and khoroo’s officers in the territory of the 7th, 11th, 12th and 13th districts of Sukhbaatar district. About 150 citizens of the respective khoroos participated in the consultation. During the discussion, about 100 feedback were given by citizens and enterprises. The consultants answered the questions in each case, and the written proposals are being sorted and examined for their inclusion in the design.
CTI Engineering Co., Ltd. of Japan is providing consulting services for the design of this project corridor, and Mr. Akio Okazaki, the team leader, made an introduction. During the discussion, the corridor’s design, including road lanes, bike lanes, bus stops, sidewalks, curbs, exits, traffic lights, signs and markings, street lighting, parking, drainage, trees, street equipment and the entrances and exits to the houses were presented in detail and many citizens expressed their support for the construction of the road.
In addition, environmental and social impact assessment of the sub-project and mitigation measures to be taken to reduce the impacts such as noise and dust pollution were presented by E&S consultant Dr. Byambakhuu.
At the end of the meeting, feedback boxes were presented to the governers of the respective khoroos and placed in the service halls of the each khoroos. From now on, citizens will be able to express their opinions not only by e-mail or by phone, but also by visiting the nearest khoroos hall.
