A capacity-building workshop was conducted with stakeholders as part of the Consulting Services for Preparation of Public Transport Strategy of Ulaanbaatar.
As part of the Consulting Services for the Preparation of Ulaanbaatar’s Public Transport Strategy, which is being implemented under Component 3 of the Ulaanbaatar Sustainable Urban Transport Project, the consulting team organized a capacity-building workshop for public transportation sector employees on July 30 and 31, 2024.
The workshop featured training sessions and discussions led by the consulting service’s team leader, Karl Fjellstrom, along with key experts Dr. Walter Hook, Dr. Surya Raj Acharya, and Dr. E. Erdenechimeg. The topics covered included public transport trends, transport mode selection, global best practices in public transport, Ulaanbaatar’s transport development challenges, and planning for mass transit systems and road networks. The training was attended by representatives from the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar, the Ministry of Road and Transport Development, the Public Transport Policy Department, the Integrated Project Implementation Unit, and the Project Management Office.
