Mayor met with the country director of World bank to China, Mongolia and Republic of Korea, Ms. Mara K.Warwick
The Mayor of Ulaanbaatar, Kh. Nyambaatar, met with the country director of the World Bank to Mongolia, China, and the Republic of Korea, Ms. Mara Warwick. During the meeting, they discussed ongoing projects in Ulaanbaatar supported by the World Bank, as well as future collaborations. The projects aim to address various issues in the city and are being implemented with the assistance of the World Bank.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mayor Kh. Nyambaatar stated, ‘Collaborating with countries that have experience in the urban transport sector, improving the efficiency and conditions of urban roads, and implementing projects and programs jointly with the support of the World Bank are key priorities for Ulaanbaatar. These efforts include improving traffic safety, upgrading the urban transport system, introducing new technologies, establishing integrated systems, and enhancing the overall urban environment.’
Additionally, Mayor Kh. Nyambaatar expressed interest in collaborating on the ‘Ulaanbaatar Sustainable Urban Transport Project,’ which aims to enhance the city’s road infrastructure and public transport system. The project is expected to contribute to sustainable urban development.
Furthermore, they discussed commencing the metro project to improve the transportation system in Ulaanbaatar. They emphasized the importance of initiating the project, calling for cooperation in preparing project documentation, conducting feasibility studies, and issuing tenders.
Ms. Mara Warwick of the World Bank expressed her willingness to collaborate on establishing an industrial park and improving the water supply infrastructure in Ulaanbaatar. Detailed information on the metro project will be provided for further discussion after obtaining additional data.
